My Story - Margie Holaway Brown

After reading my last rendition of "My story" I realized much has changed in my professional and personal live. My husband and I are still living in central Washington and both are still working. We love all the outdoor activities that are readily available to us here in central Washington.

Spouse: Dave
Children: Eric

Grandchildren: Baylee, Bradyn

In October 2007, I opted to abandon the stressful world of mega-corporate commercial banking and took a job with a much smaller bank that wanted to establish a branch-banking network in central Washington. Since then I have assisted in opening three new offices, with the fourth to open in September. Instead of looking forward to a retirement timeline, I am again enjoying my banking career without any plans to retire. (That is helped by the fact that my husband also hasn't retired from the US Forest Service.)

We now have two grandchildren who live locally with our son and daughter-in-law so we have lots of opportunities to share their childhood experiences. Both are very bright and energetic, and try very hard to wear us out on weekend stay-overs.

As I look to the future and when I might retire, it's anyone's guess. We plan on spending time in Mexico after retirement and doing lots of saltwater fishing. It's one of our passions. In the meantime, I continue to volunteer for several community non-profit organizations and try to prioritize my other commitments to include family, friends and myself.
