My Story - Bill (Miller) Fenster
Last Updated on 07/22/17

After graduation I did two years at the U of A in the theater dept.  I married Sue Holtschlag, who was a 1969 graduate from Catalina.   In 1970 I went to work as a newsman at KOLD TV and a number of things took place:  divorced Sue, went to Europe looking for truth, came back and married Barb DuVal from the Evil Tucson High,  was adopted by my step father of 12 years, and Barb and I had our first son, Adam.

That was all too much, so we moved to Portland, Oregon and then to Seattle Washington. I worked at KING TV and became their chief photographer. It was a lot of fun and I got to film documentaries all around the world.  Photographed a lot of sports, including Seahawks as an expansion team. Filmed many news events, like the Mt. St. Helens eruption.

Barb worked at KING TV for a while too. and we did a documentary on foster kids, got involved, and ended up with a daughter and another son, Tiffany and Case. There are some more details in this 25 year period, but I don’t remember what they are or when they happened.

In 1998 I went into management and helped put a new television station on the air. That was fun, but I missed the camera, so I started Bill Fenster Productions in 2001.

Somewhere in here. Adam stepped up and gave us a couple of grandkids, Keyo and Lunden. This was great timing, because I thought having my own business meant I could goof off a lot and spend time with the grandkids. (Tiffany has given us given us two more grandkids, Ava and Tanner.)

And, finally, in 2005, we moved to Phoenix to be closer to our parents. I’m still goofing off and Barb is the Executive Director of “Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic”.

Now, mostly retired and do the snow bird thing back to Seattle. Pretty exciting.

Message to the class:
You probably don’t remember me; I was at Catalina for only my last two years, and my name was Miller. I spent most of my time in the theater department with MARY ANN Slone, Jim Horne, and Karen (Star) Hotz. My only claim-to-fame was getting my picture in the paper for working on “High Chaparral” in Old Tucson.  If you don’t remember that, then I’ve got nothing….
