My Story - Greg Beckett
Last Updated on 7/01/00

After graduation I joined the Navy and floated around on an aircraft carrier for 4 years. My "boat" was the USS Intrepid .. she's a museum in New York City these days.

In 1973 I moved to Seattle, not knowing anyone, with 200 dollars and a seabag full of clothes. I've been here ever since having bought a home and married my wife Ruth. I worked for a VISTA type program when I first got here being a teacher's aide to inner city children and bought my first house when I was making 50 dollars a month and getting food stamps.

Through the years I've worked many jobs. They run the gamut from stringing beads to maintenance electrician to the current "geeky" computer stuff I do now. I maintain a web page at www.speakeasy.org/~gregb. Feel free to visit my page.

I wish you all well. I still have family and siblings in the Tucson area and I get down there occasionally.

As the Grateful Dead have written and recorded, "what a long strange trip it's been" ... a wonderful one I wouldn't have traded for any others'.

Check out my web page ... and write.
